I went down at deals gap back in May on my speed triple. Nothing too major...bent shift lever, broken signals, tweaked front wheel...and I broke my foot. Can you imagine the fun I had riding back with a broken foot and bent shift lever? HA!

Anyway...my gloves had gravel dust on them and thats it. They are my second pair of speedstars.

Also...one thing to keep in mind with those gloves...

The kangaroo palms...that feel so nice...thin has disadvantages. Mostly in the summer though. If your hands sweat all day and you take off the gloves and just let them air out...the palms will be hard and brittle feeling later. After a while, its like they dry-rot and start to bust. Thats why I ended up replacing the first pair cause I had holes in the palms even though there wasn't a damaged stitch anywhere else. I'm sure there is something you can do to keep them soft but I haven't been concerned enough to look into that. Its not like I'd actually do anything, anyway.

Leather conditioner. It helped my Technics go for almost six years

If you use the right conditioners for leather / kangy / and rinse them of the salt that comes from the sweat you'll make them last.

I think that contributed a lot to my last pair busting more than anything else. I may try to grab some conditioner but realistically, I'll probably never use it.
