Fireclowns trip through Canada draws closer. What's your $0.02 on these saddlebags? - July 13, 2007, 06:49 AM

I'm starting to get excited about this trip. Got my new Ipod, and now my new saddlebags. Does anyone have any advice about these thingies? I'm thinking the drivers right bag is riding low, but I should be able to shift it over. It has what I think are a combination of heat shield/structure inside each bag. Should I protect the bottom with anything else? What works better for waterproofing than trash bags?

Technics bags, $55 delivered. They might fit the R1, call me if you need to use 'em for a trip.

As to the La Mezcladora, Tony helped me out and showed me how to change brake pads and bleed the lines. Gonna save me a fortune it will. As to the rest, I am due for a 12K servicing anyway, so I'm going to have Twigg put on a new rear tire and do a major. With some luck the valve adjustment will take out some of the cold temp stutter that I've been noticing.
