First Gear is AWESOME!!! - January 8, 2009, 12:07 PM

So I bought some First Gear Pants, Jacket, Heated gloves and Heated Jacket liner. Got the Jacket from New Enough cause it was on closeout and the rest from RnR Cycles. Well the Jacket had a leakage problem from the first rain. Called First Gear from the number that is on the jacket and guess what! They are sending me a newer model jacket that cost's 180 bucks more than what I paid to me FREE! When I get the jacket, which will be tomorrow, all I do is send them my old jacket! They are doing this thru RnR cause New Enough told me they will not work with me! But First Gear is doing all this with no extra money from me at all! They ROCK!!! It is so nice for a company to stand behind their products!

They repaired a pair of pants I have that had a torn seam (not due to a wreck). Free of charge. I just got a textile suit from them and look forward to testing it out once I get my bike back in order.

Good company

I contemplated heated gear for last season....I should've pulled the trigger.

I'm going to do it this season, if I can. I at least want gloves and a jacket liner.

I've seen some good stuff about Tour Master products, but I think I'm leaning towards First Gear. Anyone have any experience with Tour Master?

Badass. The gloves have protection? Keep the fingertips toasty?

I've used both Tour Master and Cortech (by Tour Master) products for over 10 years.

Not always the sexiest, but the build quality and durability is top notch.

I still have my (unsexy) tour jacket that I bought in 1998... not a scratch.. still repeals rain after far too many rides in the down pours in NorCal

*sigh*
