Richard and I have started noticing a lot of this lately. People are starting to sell race suits at incredibly low prices coming out of Pakistan. Like Rhino leathers (http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/...cing_Suit.html) or Spartan leathers (which seem to be better quality: http://www.spartanleathers.com/). I'm not sure I'd want to be RACING in one. I've wrecked pretty hard in my Alpinestars (which were too big- oh and see avatar) many, many times and they held up but got too ugly. I bought a SPIDI one after, and it's been down oncet or twicet and has held up, but they weren't bad wrecks. What pisses me off is that the side panels in the knee area are starting to wear holes. They probably considered it a non-impact area and therefore used crappy leather.

But, be careful of these cheaper leathers. Often, the suits are pieced together from smaller scraps which makes them weaker because of all the stitching. That's what this Frank Thomas looks like. Usually, good leathers have a solid panel for the back. It's funny that they don't post up pics of the back of the leathers... Also, I would want Schoeller brand Keprotec stretch panels...or at least be Kevlar aramid fabric.

i cant afford the really good 1 peice suits. although the celtic ones look nice.

i dont know anything when it comes to suits like this. but this might be an answer for the casual/crazy backroad rider. do you think it would be better then wearing a mesh jacket and jeans?

Oh, I'm sure it would be... Like I said, I just wouldn't want to RACE in them. Plus, leathers look cooler.

You might want to check out that Spartan leathers guy, then. He tells you how to take your measurements and then he has them made custom. Still pretty cheap, too.

I personally know Dave - product seems to be worth the money. Another company is TILT out of Cali.

Here's a picture with the back.

Doesn't look like it has any more "pieces" to the back of it than the $1000 A*'s Supermoto to me.

Like with basically every other product in the world, if you buy name brand you're paying mostly for the name.
