Protectall from walmart. Been using that stuff for 14 years on shiney bike bodies and helmets. Works great and helps repeal water.

Wait, let me get this straight...you don't have a bike, but you do have a helmet and gear, and you're trying to figure out how to keep a helmet that's getting no use, because you don't have a bike, shiny??? Hmmm

Spray wax. It works wonders. I clean the bike and the helmet. Which I will be doing soon since it got washed tonight.

Geez lady. I would hate to hear what you say about pregnant women waiting to have a baby. "Why you gonna buy cribs and cloths when that baby aint born yet" or how about "Why you learing how to change a diaper even though the baby aint born yet".

Come on Gidget. Whats the deal! Yes I asked. Yes I have my gear. Ok I dont have a bike yet. I will get one if its ok with you. As a matter of fact give me your address and/or phone number so I can call you from the dealer or show up to let you know I got it. Jebus H Christ!

and to add something valuable- we used to use the Honda spray before they took it off the shelf. I don't know what the new stuff is that replaced it, but it sucks. It leaves a film on the face mask and it's hard to rub off. Grr
