Thumbs up Iasus Helmet Speakers - August 21, 2007, 07:21 PM

I recently got the Iasus X-Sound 2 Helmet speaker for riding with the ipod. These are awesome! I tried all the ear buds, ear clips, and ear phones ... they all sucked for inside my helmet (Arai RX-7 Corsair). If you cant find a set up you like take a serious look at these.

Do you also use the amp? I don't feel like going through my collection to up the levels on my mp3's, and no matter what helmet speaker I've used, I had to use some sort of amp (latest one I tried was Boostaroo) in order to hear the music on the highway. I'm afraid I'm going to end up doing it (boosting levels) anyway.

Cheers

I was thinking triing them. At $57 I did not want to takethe chance that they are no better than what I have. I problem now is that as speed increases the deeper sounds get washed by the wind noise. If I turn up the volume I get distortion. do these handle higher volume better? I ride with ear plugs so that dosen't help.

Yeah, I ride with earplugs also, and you're right about the distortion when it gets loud. I'm not sure what dB's are needed to hear over the wind at high speeds, but if we could estimate that then we could see where the headphones are rated.

Be careful with the volume ya'll. Even if you can't hear it or its distorted...you could still be damaging your hearing without realizing it.

They attach 2 ways one is you take off the white 3M tape and attach or take off the 3M part which has velcro on the other side. I use the velcro to stick to the helmet material inside. Also has volume control (the little box on the cord). And a disconnect half way so you can leave the speakers in your helmet and take it off with out unplugging everything. When I get back in conus your more than welcome to check them out.
