Which jacket - August 28, 2006, 03:06 PM

Ok I was thinking about a jacket to get. My choices are between

and

The the first is non-perforated but has vents. The second is perforated. Both are the same price.

What are you looking for in a jacket?

I have the sonic perf (the second one) and I love it--nice and ventilated.

it does have a zip in liner for when it gets colder, but I just got the jacket 3 mo ago, so I haven't worn it cold yet, I'll let you know.

I don't understand why every manufacturer/designer has to plaster their logo/names IN BIGASS HIGHLIGHTED letters on everything they make..... yuck!

2nd one FTW!

i was also counting on the assumption it had a liner. I think with a liner the perforated will be just as warm as a non-perf. I think it also looks better in my opinion as well

the liner is light, but it will definitely reduce any airflow, and its got some insulation to it. when it gets cold I'm gonna wear that jacket with liner, and some hot-chili's underneath

riding to work in january last year wearing hot chili's (polypro) under jeans and a leather jacket was nice and toasty warm

not really. I like the first style, but I am thinking about how effective vents vs perforation will be. I will sacrifice style for comfort.

I would think the perfs would far outweigh how cool looking the first jacket may be.

Which one would you rather be wearing while stuck in traffic w/ high heat/humidity?

1st one if you ride year round...2nd one if you only ride during the summer months. But I definitely like the 1st one better.
