Joe Rocket Manta Tank Bag - February 12, 2007, 03:42 PM

I'm looking for a small tank bag for my bike. I only need ehough space for my GPS unit, a cell phone and spare change for the tolls.

I'm thinking of getting the Joe Rocket Manta Tank Bag ( http://www.joerocket.com/jrf/product...roducts_id=280 ).

Does anyone have experience with this bag? Or is there another small bag you like better?

How come you don't use it much? Bad fit?

Thanks for the offer. I would have taken you up on it, but my bikes in the shop till the day I'm scheduled to leave for Florida. I'll probably pick up the bag since it's only like $35.

I have one also. It's decent for what you want it to do. You can fit a 12 inch sub in it but not with a 20oz bottled soda. Just an FYI. I used one for a lunch runner.

Oh it is not that, it is a great fit, I have a small purse(being a female) that fits under my seat that I keep my phone and wallet in, so I just do not use it that much.

I have the Manta. It works great, but if you are looking to fit a gps in it, it probably won't fit in the pocket that has the clear window. I have a Garmin Nuvi and it won't fit in there. Just an FYI....

I use this http://www.bikebandit.com/PartsBandi...6788&WT.mc_r=7

If you never used one of these, always make sure the area where the magnets attach are clean or they will scratch your tank.I have an old bike,so I dont really care.

ALL MY HEROES ARE RUSSIAN...GO CAPS!

Well you see, Norm, itís like thisÖA herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers.-Cliff Claven

Icon also has a smaller bag you can look at. I think the Manta bag is the one that will fit a pair of size 9 gym shoes, so it's decent, good for an ipod too.

Doh! - March 2, 2007, 09:57 AM

I ended up buying the bag a couple weeks ago before I headed out on a trip to Florida with my bike.

Turns out, my Ducati's tank isn't magnetic! What the hell is my tank even made of?

You can imagine how embarrassed I felt walking back into Colemans to return it.

Anyone have any suggestions about a bag like the Manta that ties down?
