leather suit - busted seams - January 17, 2008, 04:25 PM

I saw a leather one-piece, Joe Rocket suit for sale that has a busted seam in one arm. Is that something repairable at a leather shop? I haven't seen the suit in person, so I can't describe the actual damage.

Keep in mind that I'd be getting the suit for track days, so I wouldn't want it unraveling on me at an inappropriate time (e.g., skidding on my butt after a lowside).

Thanks.

Depending on where it's unraveling and how badly, it may or may not be repairable. The catch-22 is that you may have to buy it and take it to a leather shop (like Bedo's in Falls Church) only to find it may NOT be repairable... Maybe you could have the owner email pictures of it to you to take to a leather shop for a rough estimate... Just a thought...

My Joe Rocket Speedmaster WAS able to be repaired, but the damage from my crash wasn't that extensive at all.

I gotta hit up Bedo's too, my leathers ripped up the perforation.
