I recently went down at Summit Point last week and destroyed my Teknic Leathers and looking to buy a new set of RACE LEATHERS. Any suggestions?

I'm not your typical skinny racer build...I'm built like a linebacker and have very broad shoulders and need a race suit that is larger in the shoulder and chest area. Some people have been telling me to buy MOTO GP Leathers or Speedmaster (Joe Rocket)...what are your opinions?
I just know that I will not buy anymore Teknic Leathers or gloves after my incident.

Dude, I wear speedmaster on the track... they're not bad at all... offhand i'd say take a look at the Moto GP leathers, though... I think they're kangaroo, and a couple I know have them and are happy with them... If the Moto GP leathers were out when I was shopping, that's what I would have bought.

give bill a call at barnacle bills http://www.racingleather.com/ he made my suit and if you are already looking at 800 for off the rack that might not fit correctly in all of the places it needs to. he made mine with lost of extra's and custom work for around 1100. a less fancy suit will be in that same price range. that and i doubt that he will need 3 cows to make your's like he did mine.

I just recieved my new Vansons today...awesome leathers!
I've seen bam's leathers and they seem to hold up well in crashes.

The bigger they are the harder they fall. Don't cheap out on leathers Matt.

Vansons cost $$ but they are made from the heaviest leather available. There is a selection of them at Battley Cycles. Custom sizing could take a while.

Well...my comment was meant as a thumbs up for BB's work, not a bash on your riding ability.
But if the shoe fits...
Like WKDBLD says, Vanson's are top notch.
What a difference in quality from my Joe Rocket suit.
