Well, some of you already know that I was in the market for a 2 piece suit. Why a 2 piece? Well, I don’t all out race but I have done some track days and will continue to do so. Also, after recent incident’s, it just seems like a good idea. Concrete/asphalt doesn’t give and I like my skin. And a friend of mine said it best, “Wearing full leathers is like an insurance policy. You have protection and hopefully you won’t need it.” Also, a 2 piece is more practical for everyday use I think. But here’s the kicker. I wanted a 2 piece vented suit. That’s the kicker.

When I started looking around, it looked hopeless. I looked everywhere…Joe Rocket, Alpinestar, First Gear…Nothing. Then my friend Kyle at Cycles U.S.A. pointed me in the direction of AGV Sport. They actually have what I was looking for. But how would it fit? I am 5’10 at about 165 (weight challenged is what I call myself). Kyle races at Summit and V.I.R. all the time and he had nothing bad to say about AGV. He is about my height and weight and he said it fit like a glove. As a matter of fact, he went down this past weekend and his suit held up perfectly. Scuff marks of course but what do you expect? So, I decided to give it a try and on order it went. Not even 4 days later, it shows up. I try it on. “Hmm.”, is basically what came to mind. “This is what a real 2 piece is supposed to feel like.” It’s double stitched and even triple stitched in certain areas. It has 1.5mm leather, dual density armor and a whole other bunch of other crap. Just visit the site for a list. I squat down, get into the racing position and it feels good. It also has neoprene around the neck so my neck ACTUALLY felt comfortable. Back in the box it went.

FIRST RIDE

I call my friend Tim up and off we go. I haven’t gotten a lot of ride time in this season so Im definitely taking it easy. The suit feels awesome. Its not bunching around anywhere and I can actually feel air flow through it. It’s a pretty warm day so the venting is doing it’s job. The suit is still kind of stiff but after about an hour, it starts breaking in. Well, we start hitting a couple of side roads and Tim waves me on. Its time to GO! The suit feels awesome. It doesn’t restrict me in any way. It actually feels like a second skin the way it supposed to. After about an hour and a half, my butt starts getting a little sore. I guess I haven’t worn a 2 piece suit in a while. SO, its quitting time. Go home and put the bike up. I unzip the suit and off it goes. No prob. And for the person who suggested using under armor, CUDOS! It slid off with no prob.

SECOND RIDE

This time by myself. The suit goes on easy but it is still a little stiff. But it is slowly working its way looser and looser. It feels AWESOME and it isn’t restricting me at all. It’s a little cooler out so I put on a long sleeve shirt underneath and that was perfect.

CONCLUSION

The suit is awesome and I strongly recommend it. But always try it on before you buy. SIZING IS DIFFERENT IN EVERYTHING! I think it was a Alpinestar that I tried on and they told me I was a 44. Well, the AGV is a 42 and it fits like a glove. I like the way the cuffs, neck and pants cuffs fit because of the neoprene. It doesn’t bunch up. Its vented at the arms, torsos, legs and definitely keeps me cool and it actually feels like its well built. NOT FLIMSY!

Well, there’s my 2 cents! Hope it helps someone out!
