Need help with suit selection - September 15, 2008, 10:42 AM

After all the recent mishaps out on the roads, I have talked myself into getting a full suit for added protection. I have run into a few problems though... You see, I am kinda, well....big. And the suits that I have tried on (1 piece) all seem kinda tight. I am 6 ft, a 38 waist, narrow shoulders and long arms--Im certainly a different breed. I tried on an A* Octane suit and the Dainese Luguna Seca and they both seem really wierd around the shoulders. Is it supposed to be a really tight fit? Am I not supposed to be able to reach above my helmet?? The guy who was selling me all this said it was fine, but Im not sure. Any suggestions for a suit for a big guy? Will I have to go to a two piece and if so, is that bad as compared to the 1 piece? Thanks guys

Astars, dainese, Spidi, and other European makers are cut slim since most Euros are slim not like an American build per say.

AGV? Joe Rocket? Have you tried those? SYED? VANSON? Some of these even do custom.

Is there someplace in the NoVA area to try on 1 piece leathers? I want to get a set, but want to try some on, first.

Well I am 6' with a 30 inseam and 38 waist and Vanson made a custom suit just for me. It was not cheap 1200 bucks back in 1994 but I still have it and wear it to this day even after a couple get offs on the track. You buy cheap you will get cheap when it comes to gear!

Suits start out very tight and well uncomfortable, after you sweat in one for a hour or two it will losen, like a new pair of shoes.

Sree at MotoNeko can probably get you a great price. Find your suit in person at the local stores and then order from Sree.
