i think anoop has one. the usb power slot in the back sucked so it was always prompting him about lost power. he has it on his f850 now and doesn't seem to have any problems now.

I have the nuvi 550.
It has the usb power slot. So far it's holding up fine, although it seems like a dumb idea. I have my doubts about it. The power harness that connects to my bike's battery died. Garmin replaced it under warranty.

One problem I'm having is that the software freezes on me and I have to cycle the power on/off without the power cord being connected. That's hard to do while riding.

Have you taken a look at the Garmin Montana? It's supposed to be good for offroad riding.

It's usually about compromises when it comes to Garmin products.

I had a NUVI, and I liked it just fine. Not sure what the difference is with that zumo, but it looks about the same as what i got.

zumo made for motocycles. has vibration protection. easier to navigate with single hand, the left hand in particular.

I had an 865 on my ZX10, huge screen and worked great. Downside to the non-zumo models is the lack of water resistance so I always carried a little plastic bag for it.

Hardwired it to the battery.

John, stop screwing around and get a GPSMAP model.

WTF is a GPSMAP model? I already bought this zumo 220 and am expecting to take possession of it today.

I was eyeing the Nuvi 500 or 550. It seems like it has most of the features of the Zumo at half the price. Would you buy it again if you had the chance?

I suppose with the price difference, one could buy a large number of ziploc bags. However, I decided to go with the waterproof, motorcycle-specific unit but still not spend $800.

Full report on this thing coming...
