Question about Fieldsheer/Hein Gericke suits... - January 17, 2011, 01:49 PM

Hello all.. I have a friend who is looking at getting a full suit....

It has been a long time since I used a Fieldsheer Suit... and I don't know diddly about the Hein Gericke stuff...

Long story short... he has a couple of deals he found on either:

A) Fieldsheer Tatt suit...

B) Hein Gericke Celtic suit...

Anyone have any experience with these suits? I don't want him buying junk that won't protect him if he falls on the track...

Any info is appreciated....

I have always thought Hein Gericke leathers were top shelve. And the reviews of the celtic suits are always positive. There's always a hand full of them at any given trackday. If he can find this suit, its great value and is a proven race suit.

Fieldsheer, I have seen much of anything from them other that just the standard jackets.

Ditto what Matt said... Those Celtic suits are all over the paddock on race weekends too.. many of them look to have been crashed in quite a few times as well.. still look good!

Hein Gericke have a long history of producing top-quality touring gear in Europe. I WISH some of my newer Vanson jackets had some of the unique little features that my Hein Gericke had. Simple little things like a small zipper pouch on my left sleeve that I could operate quickly with gloves on (I used it to keep toll booth money.) The only thing I didn't like about my Hein Gericke is the price tag.

First Gear was intended to be a more affordable line of Hein Gericke gear, but still is of excellent quality.

I can't speak for Fieldsheer.

Yea, Corbett. I have always like the stuff that Hein Gericke has produced. Their attention to detail is awesome and some of the little things they building into their designs just seem to make sense. But I too have a budget issues and have gone the First Gear route with great success.

I had a leather heine gericke suit I wore til I couldn't squeeze my fat ass into it anymore. It had a few pavement interfaces and was still holding together fine. I ended up selling it and still got about $250 for it. I bet it's still around.
