I'm thinking about getting some pants to ride with instead of my good ol jeans.

Right now I have an Alpinestars V4 jacket and a Fieldsheer mesh for the summer. I'd like to get some pants or steel jeans but I have no idea what maeterials are good for riding in the summer heat.

Candidates now are Icon Super Duty, Joe Rocket Steel, or Alpinestars AST-1.

Comfort is only seconded by protection, but not much. I'd like to see armor in them but double layers is fine too.

I have been shopping myself for pants. I checked out the draggin jeans yesterday at a store in Annapolis. In my opinion, i would not waste 100 bucks on those. I'm looking for protection from both road rash and broken limbs. I know I won't be fully protected from broken limbs but armor is certainly better than nothing. That said I'm sacrificing comfort and purchasing leather pants. I thought about some textiles with armor but that would probably be a fashion violation to mix leather and textile. So, leather it is!

I just ordered A-Stars Track pants... Don't plan to use 'em for er'day riding though... For now, I just double up with jeans (bottom layer being the ones with kevlar mixed in)....

Maybe try some knee/shin guards under a couple pairs of jeans if you're not tryin' to go leather but want the armor.

Dockers classic cargo shorts only $35 from Kohls

they work awesome, provided you don't fall down or hit shit

serious note:
I like the Joe Rocket Blaster Pants. But then again, they match my blaster jacket. They dont have pucks so it keeps you honest on the street. I believe AGV has a similar pant.

The Phoenix pants are more like overpants but I may be thinking of some other product.

I really like Joe Rocket stuff because it comes with that little JR Sticker, that I always say I am going to stick to stuff, but then it just ends up in the drawer with the rest of them.

I mis-spoke Justin. I meant Ballistic Pants. That's what I am getting. Although I do like the Phoenix pants, but they don't come in XXXXGuzz.

after I paint my track bike, can I have some stickers. fast stickers are like 0.000005 extra hp and my slow ass needs all the hp I can get.

it'd look pretty stupid with JR stickers on my bike and my Teknic suit, but who cares, I need the extra hp!!

Do any of these pants you all mentioned have any protection at all? Doesn't need to be hard armor.
