Shoei shields, Spectra or Smoke? - August 14, 2007, 09:38 AM

I just got a new lid, courtesy of the drunk driver that hit me from behind in the parking lot last month. Anyway, I hit my head on the pavement on the way down and was wearing my Shoei TZ-II. My head did not even feel it, but Im sure the helmet was compromised, so I went out an purchased a new Shoei X-11 Bostrom TC-5. It's a great helmet, but I need to get a shield with some glare and sun protection. Is there a significant difference between the smoke shields and the spectra shields? if you have both and can compare let me know which you prefer!

thanks

Spectra

I've run both and the Spectra just seems to cut out more glare and heat.

Yes get the Spectra! I have a couple of them and they work very well. The smoke really doesn't do much. Also I bought the yellow and put a Fog City hyper shield in it for night time fog and glare and that works.
