Suit or pants - January 24, 2007, 02:21 PM

I already got a riding jacket (JR Sonic 2). Was looking to get some matching pants so I got full gear. Some bought my attention to a Fieldsheer Revo 2 piece though.

Trying to decide which one would be better to get. Basically the Jacket/ Pant combo would not be perf and has more pocket room to carry my wallet and phone.

The suit is perf and has like one pocket. I just need protection for my legs and the price of the suit is reasonable to me.

My dilemma is having a suit and a jacket. I'd feel like I would never wear the JR jacket by itself. On the other hand I could save up the $$ to get both but what would be the point.

Do you guys have several sets of gear? mismatch gear?

2-piece leather suit that has shoulder, elbow, back, and knee protection...at a minimum.

Get a neutral color...in case you decide to sell your bike.

are you talking about winter time commuting? If so, Gerbing electric jacket liners, pants, socks, and gloves are the way to go...

Aerostitch makes awesome all weather 2-piece suits, too... (as much shit as i give highsider for looking like he's going snowmobiling)

I just asked a simlar question about that same suit check this thread. I bought the suit, but it still hasn't shipped after 3 days. Sandhills Powersports was the cheapest ($375), but they also seem to be the slowest.

You canít have too much gear.
Get the pants, then a suit later.
Get pants that zip to the jacket.
Use the zipper. (I have a sexy scar from not doing that)
On all day rides itís nice to be able to take your jacket off at cafes.
Chicks dig leather pants.

BECAUSE I GET OFF ON IT!

First off

Dodge -

Second

Google and look for reviews from people who have crashed on both the revo suit and joe rocket pants that will zip to your jacket. See what people say about them and I would go with the safer gear one that will hold up better in a crash. If it's the revo, then get that. If it's the joe rocket pants matching your jacket, then get that. Having extra gear is a good thing, if you mess up what you normally wear you will have a backup while your regular gets replaced or repaired.

Some people are only alive because it is illegal to shoot them.

NewEnough.com has a Teknic 1 piece on closeout sale. Not sure how good the suit is, but it looks like a decent price for an entry level set. The reviews on it are so-so. I've been thinking of picking one up myself.
