Thumbs up Tank Bag Review. This thing is real good. - May 19, 2008, 07:47 AM

Sargent Super Bag
I've had a few tank bags but this thing has got to be one of the best bags out there for the money. Expect to pay between $100 and $175 for this bag. Tank bags look kinda dumb but if you ride more than you talk/type then the day will come when you need a good way to carry crap.

I just picked up a Speed Triple to basically use as commuter and wheelie machine. At the end of this month I'm going on 4-day trip that will include camping and other debauchery so I'll need plenty of storage. This bag has tons of room and versatility. This bag set up gives you the option of magnetic or strap mounts. The little removable side bags are perfect for things like a camera, cell phone, coins, and such. There are a number of storage combinations that work well. The integrated bungee cord and flashlight are neat. Put this bag on your list if a tank bag is in your future.

Specs and pics:
  • One large 13 liter main compartment expandable to 21 liters.
  • 10"W x 13"L x 6"H (without the side bags)
  • 15"W x 13"L x 6"H (with the side bags)
  • Approximate Inside Dimensions: 8"W x 12"L x 5.5"H
  • A zippered front compartment with handy bunjee catch-all.
  • Two removable side pouches that mount in three possible locations and may be worn on your belt.
  • One small bag that mounts in three possible locations that coverts to a fanny pack
  • One small fold-out map panel that stows away easily.
  • One large, two-sided map panels that attaches on three different locations - the Super Bag, the Launch Pad, and the Rain Cover.
  • Reflective bead for increased visibility at night.NEW Built-in high intensity six bulb LED flashlight.
  • One rain cover that stows away easily in its own pouch.
  • Load Stabilizing System for added cargo security.
  • Additional utility hooks for attaching what ever you want.
  • Universal Mounting Kit with both magnetic and non-magnetic attachments.
  • Sargent styling that works with all types of motorcycles.
  • The Super Bag also offers a variety of options for non-bike travel including a beefy satchel handle and an adjustable strap so it may be carried as a shoulder bag or across the body as a messenger bag.
  • OPTIONAL - Power your Super Bag with PowerMate

Why would I want to do that? The Duke will live again!

Longer term update:
Left it in the rain a few days so some of the snaps are rusting. On zipper pull ripped off. Otherwise, holding up pretty well.

Looks like they are on closeout for $95 as they are being discontinued. Now's the time to buy one

I like how it has a lot of individual pockets. i have the road gear, got it for 80. I don't think it would have any rusting problems, but doesn't have near the compartments yours does.
