Teknic Xcelerator Suits? - July 31, 2009, 01:33 PM

I've owned a few teknic jackets, they usually ran a little smaller, but I'm looking for any feedback concerning the Xcelerator suits.

Anyone owned one? Likes, dislikes? I'm almost a perfect standard 44 sometimes 46 chest, and my shoulders are pretty wide, a bit over 5'9", 175-180lbs...

This is what I'm probably buying...

Seems like besides the calves being small with weird zippers on them its a good suit, well vented to.

yea one size bigger is generally how the teknic fits. I might need to try on the 44 and 46. The 42 teknic jackets were simply too small in the chest.

Thanks for the vid that was helpful.

I just got the Violator suit.. sz 44... I heard there were sizing issues with teknic suits running small until the 09 models were they corrected the size. My 44 fits like a 42. Just be sure you know what year the suit is and see if its true to size...Other than that great suits..

I am looking for a new suit, and this one caught my attention. These suits were made a size smaller in the past, which is the reason why people recommended going a size larger. However, for 2009 design, they changed things back to normal. People say that 2008 size 44 fits the same as 2009 size 42. You might want to double check all this...

Looks better than duct tape. No really though if you look at the details it looks well made. You should buy it cause Stillie won't be so into you if you get all rashed up.

Ben, go over to my parents place, mine is hanging in the basement, that thing had a monster crash and looks great. They fit weird though, a 48 was huge in the chest, but the legs were skin tight and the arms were a bit long, it was made for barrel chested gorillas. Be prepared to have it altered, but its an excellent suit.

Confusing the issue, since before you were ugly.

Woody: i'd probably bang her if she didn't look like a man

bedo's leather will fix the "americanized" (big belly) suits to fit normal.

I had a lot taken off the sides of my suit to fit somewhat snug.

Hey I resemble that remark! I wear a 48 and I had it taken in in the butt, hips and had the sleeves and lower legs shortened up a little bit. I crashed it in a slow-plow-my-right-shoulder-and-face-into-the-ground in the wet and it held up great. Then I lowsided it on the right in T11 at VIR north and all it needed was some simple green and GO. Seams held up really well and it kept it's shape well. Finally, it was destroyed when I was run into in T10. I hit the deck at 80ish and all I got was a red scar on my elbow. Alexa said "not worth repairing".

I would buy one again. My understanding is that they have been discontinued. I would strongly recommend you buy a back protector of your choice and have it installed in the suit. It comes with a cheesy one. My old set is hanging in the basement, check it out the next time you come over.

Will do, Chris! That or if I get a chance to check out Craigers while he's golfing through Basic and whatnot.
