Winter gloves? - October 17, 2008, 08:44 AM

Before you call me a cheap bastard or tell me these are unsafe...I'll tell you this much: These gloves work very well in cold weather.

Tourmaster Cold-Tex Glove

40F and up and have a pair of Joe Rocket Ballistic 5.0 gloves. Sweatfest in the summertime though.

I have the tourmaster winter elite gloves, and I swear by them. Tourmaster makes great stuff, and the prices are reasonable.

If you're not a fan of hand pillows, you can consider "glove liners" to extend the life of your summer gloves. You can buy slender neoprene liners, or any small, tight-fitting glove will work. I often use the gloves I bought at the ice skate rink. They're the kind that look like they're made for hamsters until you stretch them out...

And when it gets really cold, you can use the glove liners with your hand pillows. Slide a chemical heat pack between your two pairs of gloves and you're set!

I own these gloves so that makes me a cheap bastard as well and they work well until it gets really really cold from the windchill on the interstate and my fingertips start getting cold. I will be getting some of these or something similar and grip warmers.

The Seirus® Thermax® Heat Pocket glove liner features a convenient backhand pocket for heat packs, providing extra warmth in frigid temperatures. The Thermax® ultra-warm, soft fabric gives maximum comfort and wicking performance.

Sounds like what Kat was talking about.
