Zipping a non shift jacket into Shift Havoc pants - July 23, 2007, 09:08 AM

Ok I am looking at different brand pants and jacket that both have connective zippers. Are the attachments pretty uch standard?

Specifically I am looking at the Shift Havic pants. Normally pants say standard 8 inch zipper but these say

Connection zipper for attachment to compatible SHIFT jackets

Is this just marketing or will non shift pants not connect?

If the zippers are from two different brands, they MAY line up, but there's no guarantee. I've got a jacket and some pants, different brands, but both 8" YKK zippers that don't mesh. On the other hand, I've heard of other people getting lucky with different brands...

My Joe Rocket pants won't zip to my Fieldsheer jacket because they zip in different directions. My pants DO zip my my Joe Rocket jacket (of course). I'm thinking of taking the "extra" zipper half that came with the pants and sewing it onto the Fieldsheer jacket, but I haven't gotten around to it, yet.
