LOL come on dude, these aren't cut and dry cases.

Guy was running from the police so he's already committed a felony. Could have just pulled over and had a better chance of talking it out.

How is the officer supposed to end the pursuit if the guy was NOT going to stop at all - which the officer must presume?

They were slowing to a crawl, it was a swift way to end the chase.

Not ideal and I'd be salty too if I were the rider. But the officer didn't kill the biker as is what happened in the last thread you made.

Its not clear cut the biker was running. Looks like he was trying to pull over. Bottom line is, you don't pull these stunts on a biker. Why? Because common sense says injury and death can occur. Even at low speeds, who wants their skin missing for months?

I would have never gotten right up. I would have played dead. Then get up and sue the CHP for several hundred thousands.

wtf, this has nothing to do with riding. Dude was pulling over and got cut off. You should be ashamed to be a biker if you support cops pulling stunts like this. By the way, I got a bored out scooter that I could dust you on.

All of it could have been avoided if the rider simply obeyed the law. It's clear that you're simply a cop hater.

Yeah, its sad. Your mentality is, if you break a law, even going 5mph over speed limit, then whatever happens, happens right? If you die for that 5mph, so what right? Too bad everybody in the world isn't perfect like you. Others make small mistake and pay for it with their life sometimes. Perfectly okay by you since the should never have broken a law in the 1st place. THAT AIN'T AMERICA

What makes you think his offense was 5mph over the limit?

In the end, this was no more than tapping and spinning a car that's running from the police either. That's a textbook legal maneuver.

Oh boy , so with your thinking, if a biker is running from cops, its okay to use spike strips? its okay to pitt maneuver a fleeing biker? Are you being serious right now? smh

In this case, the rider was moving relatively slowly at the time of impact. I'd say in certain cases where speed doesn't yield a likely lethal outcome, I don't consider it unreasonable for a cop to stop someone who is fleeing by boxing him in. Sure, there's the chance for injury, but there's the chance of injury if you try to fight a cop, if you run on foot and you're tackled, if you refuse to follow instructions with a taser pointed at you, etc.

I've been pulled over on my bike before and it was pretty boring, but I also stopped on the shoulder and then shut off my engine when I saw the lights.

The "techniques" demonstrated in the video you should NOT perform on bikes due the clear probability of extreme injury. Plus, if the biker is slowing down to pull over, WHY (the cop) are you doing this????????????
