05 r6 12/11/10 wreck vid - January 2, 2011, 03:01 PM

Finally got my crash vid up, The view is kind of shitty since I had it mounted on my fork. I want to say I was doing 55-60 mph? at the time of the wreck in a 45mph zone.

Speed, bumpy road, not knowing how to deal with a "tank slapper" was my downfall I guess..

edit: maybe not 100+mph, but i think you're much faster than 60mph.

Who knows, really all I remember was trying to use brute force to calm the front end down and then everything just going into slowmo and the curb getting closer..

It's my fault, I'm stupid, and just glad to be alive right now with minimal injuries..

Damn homey! You should be grateful. Do you remember where you got off?
I'm not preaching to you specifically, but everyone should know that the only cure for a tank- slapper is throttle. Not ham fisted hooker punch type, just enough to unload the front end.
Glad you are here to post the vid!

I believe I was let off on the leftside and the bike hit the asphalt on it's right.. I knew it was a wrap once I only had one hand on the steering bars... Curing a "tank slapper" seems to be debatable from what I've been reading..

Broken hip, left ankle, right leg, internal bleeding around my pelvis area (since controlled), and very light rash on my knees.

Never really been much of a believer, but I think someone was watching out for me that day.

Sorry to see that happen and glad to hear you're on the mend. Def could have been worse. I'm no expert but I swear that doesn't look like any tank slapper I've ever seen or experianced. The aftermath of the crash would make it pretty tough to know but I'd swear it looked more like some type of mechanical failure preceded the crash.

Continue healing. Get lots of PT!

I thought about my gopro being the cause since it was a pretty tight fit on my forks just nearly grinding the front fender and side plastics, but I had done this plenty of times before and never had an issue with it. The front end on the bike is pretty intact from pics I'm seen.. Wheel, forks don't look bent at all.
