2 hit and runs in less than a year, wtf - June 9, 2009, 08:02 PM

well i was riding this past september on 395 N near springfield coming back home just minding my own business when I see a silver mercedes fly by me at well over a hundred, i turned to see if anything was following and as i did, a BMW he was racing passed a car and ran into me also going well over a hundred. I obviously wrecked. I ended up puncturing my left knee, burning to the thigh muscle and knee cap on right knee, stretched ligaments and mildly burned up my right arm and also burned up my lower back. Witnesses who stopped said they couldnt catch his plate due to his speed but said he drove off. I was in the hospital for 6 hours staring at the damn ceiling for 4 of them hours while they did x-rays and stuff. Walked out with staples in the knee and looking like a mummy. Took about 3 months to get out of all my bandages.

THEN, in april, i headed out on my bike to enjoy one of the nicer days i got to experience since i got the bike back from texas. was out about 5 or so hours and running down glebe in arlington in the left lane and i watched a suv slow to turn into a drive way. As i start to pass, another suv suddenly comes into my lane slammin my bike to the ground. i rolled, jumped up and stared at my bike in the way of traffic. i heard his engine rev up as he drove off and he squeled his tires around the corner. some guy pulls up in his car and asks if i need help gettin the bike up, i said i might. as soon as i pull the bike up, he drove off. the guy who pulled into the drive way looked at me wide eyed back out the drive way and pulled off.thank god i had armor on my legs this time. WTF is wrong with people. no one even tried to tell me the plate.

BUT, im still riding and cant wait to get my bike back. sorry so long

It's PAR for the course around here. The more you ride inside the beltway the more cage action you are going to see too. Cell phones are making it worse too.

Damn, I'm surprised you're so positive about it. I think if I had two hit and run incidents in a year I would probably be really freaking bitter and pissed off.

You need to ride more aggressive bro. I found that the more aggressive you drive the more other drivers pay attention to you and avoid YOU Obviously this is my crazy opinion and I wouldn't try this at home
