5/10 Wreck at Rt50 and Gum Springs Rd - May 10, 2007, 04:15 PM

Happened about 4pm. Sounds like a car was involved. Rider was conscious and alert when he was medevac'd.

I saw the wreck and I talked with the wrecker driver yesterday morning. It appears the SUV driver was a man in his late 70's. The bike and the SUV are totalled. He was not exactly sure what happened, but judging from the damage I saw on the bike I'd venture to guess he got rearended.

I will talk with one of the Deputies that work that sector and see if I can find out more.

Lt. Colonel Grossman - writes in his introduction to The Bulletproof Mind:

One Vietnam veteran, an old retired colonel, once said this to me: "Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident."....

"Then there are the wolves," the old war veteran said, "and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy." Do you believe there are wolves out there who will feed on the flock without mercy? You better believe it. There are evil men in this world and they are capable of evil deeds. The moment you forget that or pretend it is not so, you become a sheep. There is no safety in denial.

"Then there are sheepdogs," he went on, "and I'm a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf."
