Another fatality... - October 26, 2013, 07:02 PM

My homie just drove past a bad accident in Leesburg by the Wegmans Shopping Center. He drove by and saw the rider in the street covered with the sheets. God Bless the fallen rider.

Actually it's at the exit ramp from the Rt15 bypass to eastbound Rt7, by the FAA. FD has just been requested to provide lighting so LCSO can do the reconstruction.

Calling the FD out for a washdown. Wonder if the rider got caught under the truck/trailer.

I hope it's just for fluids from the bike.

It kinda hits home for me cuz I was riding in the exact same area a few hours before the fallen rider.

The tow company would take care of that. They are just now taking the bike to the impound lot.

I used to look at it as a battle and that I was on the front lines, gaining ground for motorcycling in the USA every time I made it to my destination alive and in one piece. I don't normally think this way nowadays. When I do, I find myself thinking more that my final tour has ended.

I think I am already there. Not like the number of cats on the road is getting fewer. And driver average experience and skill remains the same (bad) even though your own skills may be improving. Risk increases every day. Question is when does it hit that breaking point where it is not worth it anymore and you decide to stick to the track? Seeing as I would need to buy another bike to ride street...I think I will pass.
