Another one bites the dust - April 10, 2009, 11:46 PM

ah yes, thank you Washington DC for leaving me a fantastic pile of black sand/dirt laying so wonderfully on dark turns, my knee now looks like hamburger meat (whos hungry?)

Simple story, 25 mph Crash making left turn, back end slides in sand and down I go. Did a nice little roll of the bike only to see my boyfriend go down right after me with our bikes laying side by side, how cute! There was a group of people walking in the park that helped us pick the bikes up since we were both crumpled in pain.

Bike damage

Mine-
broken shift pedal
used frame slider
Dre's- NONE

THATS IT!

INJURIES
Me:
Shredded swollen left knee
scratched right calf
bruising on both legs and left arm and elbow
Dre:
Scratches n both legs
Peg stab in the knee and small scratch on the back

Not so bad!

So I tied my scarf around my knee and rode over the bridge into Roslyn and stopped in the Golds Gym, they were kind enough to give me first aid supplies and let me wash my wound in the bathroom. Then came the ride home... to ashburn, oooooweee wind sure does sting an open wound! All and all it was great to get home.

Thank you frame sliders
Thank you random people walking in the park helping us pick up our bikes
Thank you Tylenol that i just popped and ice from my freezer!

PICS!
The lighting is not that good, but the bruising just started up about 20 minutes ago, green and gross, cant wait to see it tomorrow

Were you wearing gear or did the gravel go through your jeans?

Thanks for the well wishes people! everything is sore but my knee is making squeaky noises so I will try to wait it out.

As far as the gravel through the jeans, tore a nice whole around the knee. But everything up top is leather.

Yes and I definitely hope the bruising and shit is gone by the 25th as well!

Ladies, BEBE leather jackets hold up well when you go down, just an FYI
