Boss at work had his acl reconnected and it took about 6 month to a year to heal up. I pulled my acl and mcl several times but never torn them. I wish her good luck, she needs to get it done asap so there isn't more damage.

i had a torn meniscus. didn't do PT afterwards. probably should have. i'm super active though, i was in the gym the day after surgery and back to my normal routine in a few months (although maybe favoring it through activities). it feels pretty much the same as the other knee now except for some flexibility issues (twisting and fully bending) but probably because i didn't do PT like i was suppose to. but in any case it's a million times better then before surgery...

So glad I found this thread - I'm having surgery Wed to repair my meniscus ... removing the torn section and reattaching what I pulled loose. Anyone have any experience/advice with this? General wisdom to share? Beyond bummed that I did this at the beginning of riding season - hope to be back on two wheels as soon as possible.

Sounds like YOU are going to be needing some QUALITY knee braces. Please be a friend and buy mine.

I laughed when I saw your post this morning - I have two already. That exact brace. They work!

I would like to know what you all are doing to your knees (aside from crashing bikes)... so I can avoid those things...

Well, you're screwed, because I did this going down the stairs. (Although the surgeon thinks I started the process a couple of months ago when I ramped up my gym time.) But literally, going down the stairs, stepped down onto my left foot and Very Bad Things immediately happened in my knee. It's not even a cool story.

Don't take the stairs, got it.

Best of luck man.
