Unhappy Bike hit oil and go BAM!! - August 4, 2006, 10:26 AM

Well it happened to me, I wrecked.

Was on my way to work this morning, and amazingly enough riding rather conservatively, i.e. slow, and coming up to this 4 way stop less than a minute from the office with the bike straight up and down, no lean or anything, and touched the front brake and WHAM down I went. I didnít even realize the bike was going down till I was hitting the ground, and I have pretty good high speed reflexes.

Iím ok, skinned knew, tweaked wrist but my bike and my BRAND NEW Arai RX7 are not so ok. Tank, bars, brake leaver and peddle, rear set all dented or broken with rash on the Termi, cowl and the helmet.

BTW- Arai RX7 helmets ROCK!!! As I was hitting the ground I was thinking, "Shit my new helmet", and when it hit I didnít even feel it. Going to be getting another one of those.

Glad to hear you're okay.

And glad to know every Arai owner thinks the same thing when they hit the ground "Fuck, my helmet!" Expensive little fuggers.

Insurance should cover the lid as well...mine did, and then I got an RX7 on clearance @ colemans...wham...just made up for 60% of my deductable right there

bear in mind, its not the helmet, I think ducati riders in general just run through a mental price list while they are crashing

Thats sucks... Were you in the middle of the lane when you were slowing? When I was coming home the other day & was doing the back stroke at a light with my feet trying to get out the filthy grease build up on the road. Avoiding that shit like the plague from now on. Sorry about the Arai (They could bring a tear to anyone when they get damaged/scratched).
