I don't want to name names, or any of that. A few of us were heading up to Sonic in Winchester and took BRMR from 50 to 7. We had a guy go down, and it was not good. Leg messed up prety bad, and so was his foot and ankle. I was last to show up because I was in front and made it to 7, waited and turned around.
Point is, NEVER MOVE AN INJURED RIDER!!! Unless he/ she is in immediate danger of being hit or bleeding to death, DON"T DO IT!! LEAVE THE HELMET ON TOO!!
Luckily, he'll be ok in the long run. Two of us followed the medic up to the hospital, and they were doing X-rays, etc. We hung until his family showed up.
See CRASH SCENE MANAGEMENT CHECKLIST for good accident management tips, and be careful out there.
*edit* No one moved him, or took hid helmet off. Just a reminder to all.

Sorry you had to go through this Evil. I hope the rider is doing ok and wish him a speedy recovery. And I agree, people just get too nervous after a crash and the first thing they want to do help the rider up or move him.

Nuts.. sorry to hear about this. We met up with your group at RT 50 on BRMR, just as you guys were heading north. I'm curious about where it happened..
Glad the rider will recover.

Happened in the last left hander before you get to left hand sweeper at the fence line for the feds land. The one where there is a slight rise at the apex.
Sorry, I just didn't want to mention who while they are in the "body shop". Privacy and all that, you know?

while your attempt to keep things private is commendable, other riders on the board already leaked the info on another thread.

hope for a speed recovery to the fallen rider.

This is nuts. Every weekend I seem to start reading the DCSB crash reports as the weekends draw to a close.

Slow down people...or do we need to start a a new subforum...weekend crash reports?

It's a cycle IMO. You'll see the number of crashes go up at the beginning of the season (noob riders, and a bunch of peeps haven't been riding in months and jump right out and rail), and at the end of the season (group ride speeds seem to build up throughout the summer). You'll also notice a lot of crash reports during those occasional warm spells during the winter.

Here's to hoping he heals up quick. He was on the noob ride last weekend, though I'm not sure if he was a noob or not. Either way, he's got some rehab to do and I'm wishing him the best. I have my own experiences and phobias about leg injuries, so I'm definitely sympathetic. Ouch!

See my last post for where, Dvls, at about 11:30am. I now know that the word is out. I was just a wee upset about how some do not know how to handle injured persons. My point was about that. I also did not want to be the "Oh, shit! Guess what happened to so-n so" when I first got home. No secrets, just the way I is
That being said, I encourage all to read this post: edit in a moment.....
