Crash at Old Dominion Speedway dragstrip - April 28, 2006, 08:48 PM

Friday night at about 9:00pm a racer had just completed a run and was on the return road when he managed to crash into a tree. He was initially unconscious and reportedly not breathing. A short time later, he was conscious and combative. He was medevaced to Fairfax hospital in what sounded like fairly decent condition. His helmet was cracked in the front and rear.

I've raced at that strip (car)
Must have done it at the very end of the strip. Not many trees out there.

Any respect for drag racing is now gone. Cept for the very top levels.

Wow... how do you hit a tree at a dragstrip?
