I expect he will lose it as a felon convicted of two counts of manslaughter.

It's a matter of time. At this point it's up to the police and prosecutor to not screw it up.

We all know it will get dropped to a lesser charge. He will not do jail time nor lose his lawyer status. Somehow they will blame the bikers.

This sounds about right for our "legal" system. Nothing serious happens to people until someone dies. Things like this can be cut down dramatically if we were tougher on previous offenses. R.I.P. Reading this really makes me sad, no joke.

I don't see him getting away without 5+ years in jail. Hopefully a lot more than that.
I'll believe it when I see it.

VA is harsh as fuck on anything traffic related and worse on DWI. You harm no one and get two DWI's even many years apart chances are you're going to do some jail time.

Yeah I am old enough to know better. Thing is, I just don't care.

But remember he is part of that system so he will be able to deal.

You have point there, and it would be truly a sad day in VA if he got special treatment or was able to deal it down because he is a lawyer.

My friend has gotten two DUI's in the past few years and never saw jail time. Ironic because his brother (on a CBR1000RR) was hit by a drunk driver and nearly lost his leg!

Not only a lawyer. Also a senior partner at a Tyson's Corner law firm. I'm afraid strings will be pulled.

I wonder if a call/email to a major news station would help. Look what kind of attention it gets to other cases around the country. I won't mention any names to save any arguments but does anyone remember Trevon Martin?

Can't say that I remember the person referenced in your post, but that's a fantastic idea. It would be nice to see the justice (or lack there of) system get a black eye.

I normally wouldn't suggest something like that but considering who this person is, his history and the level of crime (double homicide). Maybe it would take something that drastic to get justice.

Is he still being held without bond? That is indicative that they are taking this seriously and he has less of a chance to get off on this. One can hope anyway.

The biggest issue is that his record is inadmissible in court and shouldn't have any effect on his case. So, if his previous DUIs we all pleaded to a lesser charge it will be like he is a frist time offender. Still serious with a double fatality. But I bet his sentence will be much less harsh.
