Unhappy Faaaaaack! - September 5, 2009, 12:33 PM

so, around 3am this morning I got hungry and thought I would satisfy my hunger by picking up some delicious rotisserie chicken from this joint at the bottom of the strip in Adams Morgan. I was at my girls place in SW, D.C and was gonna take Rock Creek Pkwy.

Well, to cut a long story short I got a little over zealous in taking a turn on Maine Ave and found myself in the horizontal position, sliding as I watch my bike complete the turn without me...spinning on it's side. Faaaaaaack!

I was pretty much the only one on the road at this hour, so I quickly get up, run to the bike and sit her up. Clutch side of the handle bar bent to shit. Faaaack!

I straighten it as much as I could. The frame slider did its job and was chewed the fuck up. shifter broken, mirror - no more, kickstand a lil bent, rear pegs scraped a lil, overall not too bad so I try to fire the bitch up and make my escape before the po po show up. After a couple of tries the bitch screams with life, but idling at like 3K. Whatever, mounted her and rode her back, shifting was a bitch. Faaaaaack!

Didn't really feel the pain until this morning. Sprained ankle, jacked up knees, sprained wrist, bruised upper ass. (apparently adrenaline is the ultimate painkiller) Faaaaaack!

Looks like a combination of cold tires, a bumpy wavy turn (which I should have known better, taken this a million times) and possible slick condition. Faaaaaack!

ATGATT bitches. Was wearing leather jacket, gloves. Failed on the footwear...Chuck Taylors ain't meant for riding. Faaaaack!

Well, my weekend is now limited to shopping for parts. Also missing the Motard adventure this Sunday FAAAAAACKKKK!

Cold tires, doubtful....new tires, more than likely. Spinning on its side sounds like you lost the rear, didn't anyone tell you new tires are a little slick?

Glad you are alright

I'm blaming the cold tires AND the bumpy, wavy road, it's really bad at that turn. just forgot about it while I leaned that bad boy around it just to be reminded of the treacherous terrain that is Washington D.C.

LOL.

was wearing jeans, which ripped at the knees. I have knee/shin guards but never wear them.
