Fatal crash on Harmony Church Rd 5/31/07 - May 31, 2007, 05:18 PM

Happen around 5:45pm on Harmony Church Rd about 1/4 mile from Hughesville Rd.

The rider ended up under a truck. This is in the area of a curve, so it may have been a lowside crash into the oncoming lane.

No more details at this point.

Update: Bike had a Maryland temp tag 42511A. New rider, new bike, both?

Looks like I may be right on both accounts.

http://www.wjla.com/news/stories/0507/427848.html

A Purcellville man lost his life Thursday evening after his motorcycle crashed with a truck on Harmony Church Road.

Mohamed Naga, 27, was riding a 2007 Triumph motorcycle westbound on Harmony Church Road near Hughesville Road shortly before 6 p.m. when he lost control in a curve, crossed the double yellow line, and struck a 2003 Ford F550. The truck was driven by Escalante Alfredo Reyes, 27, of Manassas.

Naga was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident and preliminary indications are rider inexperience may be a factor in the crash.

Information from: Loudoun County Sheriff's Office

The picture with the article here http://www.timescommunity.com/site/t...d=507589&rfi=6
answers my question about what style of bike it was. Looks like a Bonneville.

I just found out that this was the son-in-law of the owner of Autosport in Sterling, VA. Steve is an old-school hot rodder and said that if he had to pick anyone to marry his daughter it would have been his son-in-law, that he was an incredibly nice guy.

Apparently he did not have an MC license, nor did he have any MC schooling or training.

Lt. Colonel Grossman - writes in his introduction to The Bulletproof Mind:

One Vietnam veteran, an old retired colonel, once said this to me: "Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident."....

"Then there are the wolves," the old war veteran said, "and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy." Do you believe there are wolves out there who will feed on the flock without mercy? You better believe it. There are evil men in this world and they are capable of evil deeds. The moment you forget that or pretend it is not so, you become a sheep. There is no safety in denial.

"Then there are sheepdogs," he went on, "and I'm a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf."
