Around 5:20 pm a blue Ford pickup with VA license BTTRFLD was the striking vehicle in a hit and run against a motorcycle.

The bike was a large cruiser. I saw it laying on its right side and can't ID it based on a view of the bottom of the bike.

The rider was a female in her 30's. Upon arriving on the scene, she was found without the helmet on. She suffered a head injury and right side facial trauma. Half-shell/beanie type helmet I would guess. No other significant injuries. She was transported via Aircare medivac to Fairfax hospital.

prayers to the rider.

hope they catch the assnugget who hit her and ban him/her from ever being in a 4 wheeled vehicle as the operator or passenger for the rest of his/her life ... and limit that engine size to 250ccs.

Truth: Marines are the Ambassadors in Blue, they can be found in all "climes" and place.

...But, do you know how a Marine "rates" the countries and cities he's toured?

...By how easy it is to get laid, get drunk, and get in a fight.

...Go figure.

He'll probably pull the old "I didn't know I hit her" or "never saw her " routine.

I saw this too. I drove by (going west on rt. 7) and it had JUST happened. I saw the person laying on the street and saw it was a cruiser bike. A woman in a truck ahead of them was running towards them on her cell phone. I was shaken up since that was the SECOND accident, involving a motorcycle, in a week. I saw the medivac fly over my house. I'm glad she's okay.

Leesburg Motorcycle Wreck Injures One
Dan Telvock

Oct 17, 2005 -- A motorcycle rider was seriously injured Saturday night after crashing at the intersection of Cardinal Park Drive and East Market Street in Leesburg to apparently avoid a truck.

Leesburg Police Lt. Jeff Dubé said Kim M. Henson, 42, of Ashburn, was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson shortly before 5:20 p.m. when witnesses reported that she lost control when trying to avoid a truck that was turning onto East Market Street from Cardinal Park Drive. Henson skidded several hundred feet, Dubé said, before coming to a rest just east of the intersection.

She was flown to Fairfax Inova hospital for treatment. Henson was charged with driving too fast for highway conditions. Dube said the charge is similar to a reckless driving charge and that there was nothing unusual about the road conditions that night.

"Witnesses said she was [speeding] and going over the speed limit negates your right away, he said.
