Freaking Tourists that don't Speak English - June 27, 2007, 06:24 AM

So yesterday I was going down joyce st and a car turning left turned into me..

i had the right of way.. they didn't see me.. i sounded my horn and swerved to get out of the way but i couldn't avoid it
thankfully i wasn't going fast.. or i probably would have been hurt a lot more.
i haven't seen the bike yet... so i don't know anything about it
yes he got the ticket
the cop said if he fights it he won't win..
also the guy was in a rental car and didn't speak english, the female in the car with him had to give the statement to the police and she basically told the cop that he wasn't paying attention.

My left leg took the first part of the impact with the bumper of the car. The bumper was off the car.. and since it's a rental I hope the guy gets fukked by the rental company. The medics were pretty sure it was broken, but once I go to the hospital and started getting xrays and whatnot they re-assured me that it most likely it wasn't broken.. So after about 5 hours of being in the hospital getting doses of pain killers they told me it was just severe bruising and they sent me off on my way with pain killers and orders to not go to work till the 28th. Tomorrow I'll have a medical appointment with the military doctors just to make sure that there isn't any other damage. They just did xrays on my leg and the military docs might want me to get an MRI and whatnot to make sure there is nothing serious. It sure does hurt, but not as bad as my last accident.

I should find out today where my bike is.. I don't really know anything about the bike yet. Thanks all for the texts and kind words yesterday.

ooh yeah and if my spelling and puncuation is all messed up.... too bad.. i'm all drugged up right now.. and can't think straight.. OOh yeah and I got like 1 hour of sleep combined all night last night..

stupid people - June 27, 2007, 06:43 AM

wow, I cannot believe this has happened to you again baby girl....
glad to hear that the injuries are not too bad!
If you need anything, like helping to get some shopping in and so forth, pm me and I shall be happy to help you out.
Did the guy have insurance????? If he opted out to by x-tra insurance from the rental company, make sure you have the details of his regular insurance, otherwise things like that can be dragged out for a long time.......are you sure he was a tourist? Unfortunatley you still get a lot of people who come over here 'to live a better live' without putting in the effort of learning the lingo.....
anyway, hope you will feel better soon....

Glad to hear your injuries aren't major T. Rest up, and when you're ready to get your bike let Ben know. . . . cause I'm not much help in my current condition.

Glad to hear that you're not seriously injured. Everything is replaceable these days but life... sometimes limbs. I know it blows but count your blessings cause it could have been worse.
