I crashed again :( - November 1, 2007, 02:46 PM

So I was returned home yesterday from school at around 6 and was south bound on S Monroe street. I went passed the last curve just before reaching home and there in the 12th Street (on the right) I see a woman in her suburu outback standing at the stop sign and looking on her right and I think she already saw me and was waiting for me to pass .. and as soon as I got to about 15 feet of her she started moving and I was like ohh shit! ...After that all I remember is pressing my front breaks hard and going down on my right hand side .. and the woman says she didnt hear my cbr in its 1st gear! I had just put on the new fairing stay and fixed the throttle system last weekend and this happened ..

Damage -- > I am glad I didnt put my new fairing and headlights so I am happy I didnt damage those .. but the throttle, front brakes, clutch cables, radiator are the ones that have been damaged and I dont know what else is ..
I had my didnt have any protection for my knees so both of them have nasty road rash on them .. helmet faceshield is scratched again, jacket has rashes and carbon fibre on my gloves are damaged too ... Hope I get some money from her insurance company and am able to ride it soon again .. I am so sad to see her under the cover

Glad you're okay.

Another lesson to review today...

Always make eye contact with a driver who can potentially cross your path.

(If you can't, you should prepare for any result, but already be slowing down)

Sucks. I am glad u r able to walk away. Hang it up for the year and do the following:

Read "The MSF Guide to Motorcycling Excellence"
Read " Total Control"
Read "Smooth Riding"
Read Twist of the Wrist"
Prepare yourself mentally - Practice and visualize riding
Get a mentor.
Rebuild and be ready for Spring.

Seriously...u r gonna hurt yourself!

Damn Deep! That sucks. Sorry to hear about this. I'm glad you're ok. At least you're learning to work on your bike more

So, this woman pulled out from a stop sign in front of you?

Dam glad your ok. Yea read all that stuff and hope you get something from it. Take a riders course on your bike. Even if it is a track day class and you will learn so much more than reading. Reading books only gets you so far and practice and miles gets you the most. Goto a parking lot and work on stopping and evasive drills.

glad you are ok Deep....9/10 even if they make eye contact with you, that doesn't mean they see you...just be prepared that every time someone could potentially come out in front of you assume they will.

ride safe bro.

Yep she did and it was at the very last moment so couldnt have dogded it ..

I have been riding for 3 and a half month and I dont know if anybody could have evaded it .. the only thing which could have been done was slowing down as a precaution which I didnt .. bad mistake! .. I will get my bike working as soon as possible ($$) and definitely do some track day next year ..
CamD now that I cant ride I will have to read it
