I came up on the roadblock just a half hour ago. The shut down 85 from Buckeystown to Adamstown road. I was wondering what happened.....

Sad to hear.

Prayers go out to the rider and his family.

Police pursuits are bad for business. They almost never end peacefully or with a good ending. It's usually some inoocent person that gets the shaft in them.

Then again... That's just me.

So true. I could post up two recent stories of cops getting messed up while pursuing bikes for nothing more than speeding.

Been involved in couple pursuits in my career. The first one ended up with a couple HS age kids going to the hospital and could have been much worse. One kid damn near lost a leg. The last pursuit I was in I terminated myself before it got out of hand. When I was a Sgt. in the last department I worked in I terminated a pursuit that one of my officers was involved in. It had gone on too long and even had moved into a different county. The officer was pissed at me but I didnt care. Its better to be safe then sorry esp. since the suspect was just speeding. I am sure that the Maryland officer in the above incident wished his supervisor had stepped in before the accident happened. There are many reasons for a pursuit some good and some bad. I particularly do not like them anymore.

My prayers go out to the rider and his family. I hope that DUI gets convicted and does hard time.

You know even if they did terminate the pursuit, if the guy was blitzed, he was going to be as reckess as he was before the pursuit. I heard the g8uy was driving outa control before the cops even saw him. If that was the case, that guy was either going to kill or aeriously hurt someone no matter what.

But now, the traditional pursuit doesnt happen much. We have helecopters and radios. Just have some untis shut the whole damn road down and have the helecopter follow his ass till he stops, bails out or just runs out of gas. You dont have to be right behind a car to follow it.

I blame that DWI driver 100%. Hope he hangs!!

I just saw another update on the accident. The guy was already flying down the wrong side of the road when the polics first saw him... Tha guy needs to rot in jail for a while.
