Thumbs down RECKLESS 31 over the limit and can't stop thinking about the ticket - July 22, 2008, 05:02 AM

Hi and thanks for taking the time to read my positng !!

I recently recived a Recklesss ticket for going 31 over the posted speed limit which was 45mph + a ticket for Tinting ...

And I can't stop thinking and worriying about it.....

I have a -2 in my DMV record -- 2 speeding tickets that are more then 3 years old and some other small violations like HOV,NO Registration and others
(( I will be taking the drivers improvment class soon )))

What happend to your Reckless Charge (what was the speed limit and your speed)???? Did you have a lawer ??? If so what is his name and phone # and also what was the outcome of the case .

My court date is at the end of next month ...
Untill then I just wana be able to enjoy the rest of my summer with out consistley thinking about this ticket every hour....

Any help or advise would greatly be appriciated ....

Thanks in advace to people who take the time to reply..

lawyer, no question. and take the drivers thing NOW
31 over + tint ticket, plus not a clean record? Expect mucho $$ (hopefully more on lawyer than fine), likely suspension for 30 days, and maybe a weekend.

though, that highly depends where....the above is more FFX county than other places.

Wow. Definitely get a lawyer. You're going to be spending big bucks.

And 31 over in a cage? Where did you get the ticket? What county?

I got a ticket for 82 in a 55 (toll road) - reckless. Got a lawyer, paid almost 1000$ for him. Instead of getting 6 months suspended license, he bartered it to 30 days suspended jail sentence. So I just had to keep my nose clean for a year and I was good to go. Otherwise they could have tossed me in jail for a month.

So yes. Get a lawyer. It's all a racket anyway, but if you get caught speeding you have to pay the piper.

The Birdman is right on the money for what you can expect in FFX these days. Ever since they repealed the civil fees, they have been slamming the "criminal" punishments. good luck. get a lawyer.

Ninja, I wash charged with a 69 in a 25 (right on Metrotech Dr by the 7-11). 6 months suspended license, 6 months jail (all suspended), $300 fine. I had a lawyer, I took the driver improvement class without getting the points, I did 15 hours of community service prior to court. I had two speeding violations 2 years ago, 1-9 and 11-14 over.

The worst part is....there's no way in the world I was going 69.

Goodluck, hopefully I wont see you on the bus.

get a lawyer...i've been to court many times and every time i've had a lawyer, i've gotten the ticket reduced or totally removed. i've also tried going to court without a lawyer a couple times and i always got hit with the charge.
good luck.
