RIP Rider in Rockville - June 17, 2010, 07:24 AM

pulling into work about 20 min ago (Wilkins Ave off of Parklawn) and whole area outside my office driveway is taped off.apparently 2 riders racing down wilkins ave, car pulls out in front, rider grabs handful of break (100yds worth of skidmarks), body goes into parking meters (bent) and bike takes off "no parking" signs and skids over curb and back onto road.bike: black ?636? from what looks like late/mid 90'srider:covered by white sheet RIPwaiting outside of office for news from police....looks like im not going anywhere for a while since our driveway is taped off

That's a stupid place to do it, too. That area can be crazy with traffic.

RIP.

That's what went through my head when I heard about it.

I'm pretty pragmatic about this stuff...there's a time and a place for fucking off.

If your inner voice say " I wonder if...?" THE ANSWER IS ALWAYS NO

Slow down, don't pass, don't wheelie, watch for the Soccermomvan that might pull out.

This has kept me safe and sound for many, many miles.

Lord knows I don't PUTT PUTT on my bikes but be careful and wise.

+1, I don't even commute to work in Twinbrook because of the straight retardness and casual disregard for EVERYONE else besides themselves that drivers in Rockville/Gaithersburg exhibit everyday. You're putting your life on your hands driving anywhere around this god forsaken suburban wasteland at rushour... no offense... I like Rockville, the drivers are a different story...

* that's where my association with boost ends...I don't sleep in cars in my boxers. Just letting the local constables know that
