Cool Shitty Mornin...lol - September 21, 2010, 10:08 AM

So I get up this mornin thinkin today is gonna be a great day. I have been home alone for a week and some change and my daugter and wife are comin home tomorrow. So I leave out on my bike to go to work. Doing the same things I usually do (warm up the bike, put on my gear, say a prayer and hit the road). As I am leaving my hood a car pulls out and I stay behind him and just releaxe. I am usually spending this short time leaving the neiborhood heating up the tires but I just chill. Well.....you can see where I am going with this. First turn out of the neiborhood......boom. I'm spining in a circle on Dale BLVD and wondering why these lights are coming at me. I hop up and run the hell out of the way, nobody really seams to care as they swirve around the bike and keep it moving. Even the cops just blew past me. So I run back into the street and pick my bike, move it to the side. Took a minute to get my self together and then rode her back home. I still went to work too....lol. Tomorrow will be a better day.

This is going to happen more and more as the weather changes to winter. Cold tires are no good.

well since you weren't hurt good think the police DIDN"T stop....

you probably would have been pissed to get a few tickets after your accident. consider them keeping it moving a favor.

Were you on take-offs? I've def ate it on a slow turn in cold weather but I was on take-offs. They don't cost me anything because I use my own race take-offs, but they no workee so well when the weather gets cold.

Frame sliders- FTMFW! Had only one lil' scratch on the pipe.

I kept complaining about having to pussy-foot it in the cold weather during the spring and Richard worried about me eating it again, so he finally got me some Pilot Pures. They felt great this morning.

Totally sucks about your bike but it's good to hear you're in one piece!

I hear ya.....

but it's relative to the fact that MOST days we come on on the bike in one piece with the BIKE ALSO being in one piece as well.

That's the point he was making in the thread title as far as the day being shitty....

not versus coming home missing an arm or not coming home at all.

Yea...I was happy to not get ran over. And as soon as I got up I was thinking I knew I should have passed the car. That way I would have been doing my normal things and would have warmed up the tires.

Man, those frame sliders really saved me a chunk of money. The only things that were damaged are what you see in the pics and I have the original foot brake in the house.

The tires were some Bridgestones that came with the bike when I bought it last month. I havent had any experience with these tires in the cold but figured they would be okay because the brand name. On my old bike (that I rode for the last 2 winter...ZX9) I had some Shinkos and never had a issue in the cold. Guess i'll have to wise up :/

you kinda scared me with the text this morn. yeah...those tires probably aren't gonna cut it going forward...they look like semi race tires and may never heat up enough in the winter.

sorry to hear man, def take it easier on the road for first half of journey instead of going harder into turns, especially if you enjoy your bike in the condition it is and A to B it with a bit of fun.

Yeah, i am definetly gonna have to get some new tires. I am really haveing the feeling of going back to the Shinko's. Any body have a negative experiece with the 009 (hook ups)? Thats what I had before and never have any issues but when I look at alot of reviews they say there not that great on Liter bikes.....I dont know...any guidence?
