Two Die in Fairfax County Motorcycle Crash - May 21, 2006, 04:21 PM

FALLS CHURCH, Va. - Fairfax County police say two people riding a motorcycle died on Saturday night when they collided with a vehicle that had turned into their path.

Police say Timothy and Cynthia Hohner were riding their motorcycle on Lee Highway when 78-year-old Olga Reiss turned the vehicle in front of the bike around 8:20 p.m.

The couple was pronounced dead at Inova Fairfax hospital late Saturday night.
Reiss has been charged with reckless driving.

Police are still investigating the accident.

First off, that really sucks. RIP to both of them, I hope if they have kids, they're well taken care of.

Secondly: That woman has been charged with Reckless Driving?! I've gotten plenty of reckless driving tickets for friggin' speeding and this woman causes two people to die?! I want a refund.

Olga Reiss should be charged with manslaughter.

It seems that when a cager kills a biker its just a mistake. When a biker speeds on the road he is endangering citizens??? WTF.

Well if the cager was speeding or doing something real stupid I hope they fry her with manslaughter charges. But of course they'll just chalk it up as poor old person. F that!
They should take her license away, yes I know what this will do to her, but what's the other option, let her continue to drive and possibly kill someone else. Of course I'm assuming alot here but F that!.... :lol

I kinda see both sides of this argument. The fact that she's old probably has nothing to do with it. She just plain didn't see them. It was definitely an accident. Involuntary manslaughter is what they're normally charged with. It's just something that happens. Something really friggin shitty. A really friggin shitty accident.

On Saturday, May 20 at approximately 8:20 p.m., the driver of a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle and his passenger were traveling eastbound on Lee Highway. A 1999 Lincoln Continental traveling westbound on Lee Highway made a left turn into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then crashed into the front of the vehicle. The driver and the passenger of the motorcycle were transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital where they both died. The deceased have been identified as Timothy Hohner, 47, and Cynthia Hohner, 47, of 2939 Rosemary Lane, Falls Church.

The driver of the Lincoln, Olga Reiss, 78, was arrested and taken to the Adult Detention Center where she was charged with reckless driving.

I had someone hit me at a red light while in my car. Dumb ass did not see the red light changing cd's or something other then driving. So when I am at a light on my bike I keep my eyes in the rear view ready to bail, and I suggest you all do the same. As for the two RIP.

I got charged with Reckless driving for crossing thru a empty parking lot in the middle of the night while doing a burnout(in the car...many many years ago), she gets charged for the same for ending 2 lives. That makes no damn sense.

The system sucks!!
