Exclamation What happened when Bambi crossed T4 @ Summit - 6/12/10 - June 14, 2010, 04:30 PM

This is on-board video from the WERA racer who did not hit the deer.

Luckily, the rider sustained relatively minor injuries.

.NET's own Hollywood Chris Cooke was Captain in T4 and witnessed the incident.

Luckily Chris decided to come out and work with us Saturday, as we were short staffed. Earlier in the morning, I had been filling in at the corner, but there were times we didn't have anyone there.

Good to hear the rider's alright. That's gotta stop your heart seeing a deer in front of you. Then again it probably happened so fast he might not have even seen the damn thing till there was already contact.

damn dear tripped up prior to the rider hitting it, I wonder if Summit pays for bike? I know someone asked that question about deer crossing the track and stuff.

I am GLAD that the rider is okay and that you can see the cornerworker HAULING ASS! Also noticed rider waving in reflection of tach at the cornerworker in T5.

That was me you see running in the video. I was sitting with my bro in T5, looking upstream at the chute and saw Tim & his bike come sliding & tumbling into view. I didn't say anything to my brother, I just started running. It was scary and I completely expected the worst. Fortunately, Tim was awake and answering questions with the EMS folks just minutes after the impact.

Are you serious? The deer is not a pet on the loose. There is no neligence on Summits part. Deer are the states property. The owner of Summit point has no more right than than man on the moon to try to exterminate them all (not that they could if they wanted to). The state doesn't promise you'll never hit a deer on the highway and Summit point doesn't promise you won't hit one on their track. And neither one are going to owe you money if you do.

Shyt happens.
