Will be back soon! July 3rd TPM Summit Main - July 3, 2006, 11:32 PM

First and foremost, I want to thank Carnage (Jonathon) hauling my bike up for me and getting me a spot for the track. Also, would love to thanks G-dog (Warren) for coming up to support!! You rock!

Thanks to Cannon and esp. Glen for the help and advice on the track.

Day starts off good, in the beginning group… People park in the corners… I got stuck behind a lot of people, so finally, my temper starts to flare up. We can’t pass on the inside so, this is when I learned to pin the throttle!! Not sure how fast I was going, but was passing on straights and naturally late braking… I came into T1 hot as hell and looked through the turn thinking F- it, I can make this shiet! I throw the bike down and drag my knee, then my feet and legs!! Glen (my control/instructor) thought I was going to crash! I hit T5 and dragged knee through the entire turn and at the apex, my damn tire freaking skips!!!! I think FFFFFFFFF-----, I am going to crash!!! Just got spooked, so I slowed down a bit. After that session, the control rider wanted to bump me up to Intermediate!!! What an honor!! But I wanted to stay and work on my lines.

Next session, after lunch, I come out doing well and passing people, and my control rider in the straights freaking hit it so I follow coming into T1 late braking. I thought Glen (control rider) was going to just zoom through the turn… nope… he slows hella down and I thought…... FFFFFFFFFF, I am going to ram into his @$$, but I was in full lean into the turn and figured I could take the turn a bit wide to pass him on the outside… I throw the bike over… Not leaning off the bike enough… I drag my peg, legs, and lost it!!! The tires couldn’t hold it, so I lowsided and started tumbling… and I felt this bang on my head, Ouch… Looking at my helmet now, my bike tire landed on my head and left a tar mark on my helmet… I am thinking holy FFFFF what happened???!! Then, OMG, my bike!! Then, OMG my wrist hurts… ugh!!!

So all in all, my bike fairings are just broken, my frame slider saved sooo much. I have three broken left fingers in three different spots on each finger, my wrist is sprained, and a bunch of bruises. Back protector worked great and leathers saved me!!!

Thanks to James (The One), Jeff (Greys33), and Abdel for checking on me. Carnage, you are great! Thanks for taking me to the ER.

Thank goodness, I crashed on the track! I will be back!

I fixed your bike as soon as you went down to get you back out there. Didn't know about the injury though because I had to go back out on the track. Even the best will go down. Glad you had fun though. We learn from our mistakes. Your bike only needs a front fairing that's it really.

I bet it took forever to type that report.

Glad to hear you came out of the lowside okay. Yeah, not 100%, but those cuts, bruises and broken bones will heal.

I feel bad that I wasn't out there anymore. I feel like I left you out to dry and you wreck. I'm glad you're ok and the fingers will mend. I'm glad J-man stayed and helped with Abdel, Greys and the ONE. Be good.

Ouch damn T!! Glad you didn't get hurt any worse.

Try to think of all the factors that led to the crash and what it actually felt like going down. These lessons are expensive so try to learn all you can.

A buddy of mine was at the same BBQ as me last night and of course we were all talking about track time and such. He started talking about TPM and how this really cute asian girl on a yellow RR had gone down so I assumed it was you (although was hoping it wasn't). Glad to hear you are ok T. Heal up quick and fix that bike cause you're supposed to kick my ass at my first track event remember.

I keep replaying and replaying what happened in my head... Wrote this all in my little book that my big bro gave me.

Lessons learned:

Man, I should have slowed down... Key thing to motorcycling!! "To slow down is to Go Fast!" Next time, I will SLOW down

Body positioning is THE KEY. No matter how much you look through that turn, you gotta be hanging off that bike.

Should braked earlier... to prepare for the turn...

Anger on the track is NOT good... I got too cocky and needed to be knocked down a bit. Thank goodness it wasn't anything else bad that happened.
