Wreck on 33: 7/19/09 - July 19, 2009, 10:33 PM

We just had lunch at Fat Boys and a big group of sport bikes went by heading towards VA. Seeing a group of mixed riders (suited and non-suited), one had to wonder "who's going to crash".

As we made way from the WV side, where the three lanes becomes two (the left sweeper), a blue R6 laid stuck underneath the guardrail. My initial thought was where is the rider? Did he go over the rails?

When we pulled over, two guys were muscling the wedged bike and another guy was standing aside. Fortunately, no one got hurt. He was able to coast the bike down the mountain. Lucky dude! That bike was under the rails.

On another note, later in the day, another group came over from WV. All were young kids and a few were riding two-ups. One guy and his gf kept up with us thru the turns, the whole way. I think the girls were really CRAZY for being the passenger. I don't think I can ride the back seat on that road.

Yesterday was not a good day on 33. About 1pm, at the 3rd or 4th turn from the WV line, I ran across a guy on (or beside) his R1 in the kitty litter. No harm done, but he was really close to the rail.
After stopping to help him get it up, I made my way to the BP and had a snack. As I sat there chatting with some guys, an amblance/ EMS went blazing up.

I'm happy to say that I got to ride 33 several times before it went the way of 211.

Been there, done that! And NO I'm not CRAZY! Riding 2up going to 33 was definitely an experience...

I still ride, but since I started racing, seems like I have no time anymore lol.

Maybe in 2010 or when the season is done I can do some backroad riding againl

So much is going on right now, trying to finish trailer, still waiting on the $1000 from the guy who sold me the facked up engine, working, trying to get ready for races.

On Fridays or Saturday I try to relax but that never happens, always running around trying to get stuff done.

Today- change oil on bike, check bike to make sure everything is fine.
Tuesday- off to Dirty's to finish working on the trailer
Wednesday- to the shop to get the bikes and get ready for thursday
Thursday- off to jersey
fri-practice
sat- race
sun- race
sun night drop trailer of if not monday after work
then i should be able to relax until the end of august and sneak a ride in or 2

I feel like street riding is sort of a public service. How else will the geriatrics know that they drive waaaaay to slow?

its only time until 33 gets as much cop attention as 211 and they drop the speed limit down. Every time I go through there I see a bike wrecked or on a tow truck. Its one thing to ride through and another to ride up there just to rail it over and over again. If you don't want to loose it then don't abuse it. You can have fun up there with out being disrespectful to other motorists.

Favorite thing on my bike: the miles I put on it
