**Official** DCSB North Beach Newb Ride 6/14 - May 18, 2009, 12:01 PM

Itís back!!!!
The Official DCSB North Beach Newb Ride!
Come one, come all its time to bring this back, havenít had a successful Newb Ride since 2007:
http://dcsportbikes.com/forums/p/846...78.aspx#941878
http://dcsportbikes.com/forums/p/84491/940201.aspx#940201
Maryland NEWBIE RIDE - Saturday 8/18

This ride is set up to bring people new to riding or new to the area off the highway and introduced to group riding, or some local roads. It is a fun outing that brings riders from all around together to have fun, hang out, meet new people, learn riding techniques, proper safety, and simply some good old fun riding. For those who donít know this route it is an excellent scenic route passing through farm land and water front properties.

When: Sunday, June 14th, 2009

Meeting Time: Leaderís and Sweeperís meeting @ 10:00am
Riders meeting @ 10:30am
Rolling out once groups are lined up (there will be a 10min interval between groups)

Meet Location: BP Gas Station
8761 Piney Orchard Parkway
Odenton, MD 21113

The Pace: Easy to Moderate depending on group. This will be a Newb Ride, so if youíre not comfortable riding in groups, new to riding, or just want to learn new roads and get off the highway this is your ride.

Lunch: Location yet to be determined. I will be taking a trip down there to look for a good location to house a bunch of bikes and hungry riders, and try and set something up with the owner. (maybe a discount?), or just so they can be ready for us so we wonít have to wait forever for our food.

Duration: I would say around 4-5 hours or so including lunch. We will probably be back around 4ish, ending at the Exxon in Bowie, MD where 50 and 301 meet.

Weather Advisory: I will be checking the reports until the morning of the ride. Hopefully the weather stays clear otherwise if it is looking like it will definitely rain then the ride will have to be rescheduled. The reason for this is because the route has a lot of tree coverage and I donít want or have anyone else hitting any down limbs.

Some Guidelines:
1.Wear some sort of protective gear
2.Make sure your bike is legal
3.Your license is legit (permit will be fine)
4.Your bike is in decent running condition
5.Check the attitudes at the door!
6.If you have never been in a group ride, NO PROB! Just let a brotha know!

Leaders and Sweepers: Ok so I will need some help with this ride and I am going to need some experienced riders that know the route that can help lead or sweep please. Post up and cut and paste this list:
Leaders:
1. short_mike
2. Scorpion9r
3. Dr.Duct_Mossburg
4.
Sweepers:
1. Ducatista
2.
3.
4.
Leader or Sweeper:
1. roadrunner78 (50/50)
2. BigBabyCheese

Everyone: Please post up if you are going to attend, and everyone please cut and paste the list so I can get an idea of the turnout (remember I am trying to set up something for lunch)
1. short_mike
2.

Side note: If there is anyone coming from the Annapolis direction I can do a small meet and greet at the Exxon by Home Depot and Best Buy on 450 say around 9:15ish. Just let me know if I should stop there.
