[NOVA]Places to ride for a newbie? - August 11, 2009, 09:22 AM

Hi all!

Well I finally "finished" the bike, and I am ready to start ridding again. I would like to learn how the bike behaves, hence why I would rather not go out with a group just yet

Anyways, I'm looking for nice roads to practice and get some seat time. I would prefer roads with curves, and as solitary as "possible". I did the Joplin rd off 234 and had a blast, however Joplin is kind of short.

I did a quick search here, and it looks like 211 is nice one too. If so, is it a nice rd for a noob like me? and if the answer is yes, from where should I get on to 211?

Also, somebodye mentioned Fraklin Farm Rd, but this one seems to be as short as Joplin.

Any other suggestions?

Just mapped the route from Joplin Rd to Ashburn Rd and it looks like a fun ride, except for the 28 part.

my first suggestion would just to get out and ride. If you really want to learn your bike, you got to ride it - straight roads or curvy, just ride.

go north on 28 till you see Compton, take Compton into Clifton. Ride around in circles all day(you'll understand when you get there). Enjoy.

At the end of Clifton RD, do you just turn around and do it all over again?
