7/11/09 Saturday: Newb Friendly Ride - Germantown to WVA and back to MD - July 9, 2009, 09:18 AM

Ok folks, I am planning another Newb Friendly Ride on Saturday July 11th starting at the Germantown Safeway. We are going to head out from Germantown to hit some twisties out in WVA and will do a big circle back to Germantown via the Frederick area. Essentially its going to be the same ride that I led a couple of weeks ago with a few new routes AND making sure that we finish this ride this time. The route includes some mild twisties, wide open country roads with plenty of scenic views (however dont focus on them much) and some rolling hills. Come on out for some good company, good roads and a nice chill pace. We are going to stop and grab lunch somewhere along the route as well.
As always no one gets left behind!

Weather is calling for the 90's so its going to be a bit warm but I would advise and encourage EVERYONE to gear up to be on the safe side! We will stop to hydrate and to cool off from time to time so overheating your bike and yourself shouldent be a problem.

Meeting Location: Germantown Safeway (corner of 118/Middlebrook)

Meeting Time: 9:00am

Departure Time: 9:30am

Route: Germantown, Point of Rocks, Charlestown, Shepardstown, Boonsboro, Smithsburg, Thurmont, Libertytown, New Market, Mt. Airy, Damascus and Finally back to Germantown.

Pace: Nice and Chill, but if we have a large enough group we will break it up

Ride Time: 4-5 hours which includes stopping for gas, drinks and lunch

Hope you all can make it out!
