Americade - 2009 - Anyone Going? - February 12, 2009, 09:28 PM

We are gonna head up to Americade in Lake George this year.

www.tourexpo.com

the rents said its good times, and that there are plenty of sportbikes there. anyway, will probably go up on a wednesday, hit the poconos for hte night, and then do thursday through saturday at the event, before heading back and stopping somewhere saturday night halfway and returning sunday.

Still need to get lodging, but will probably do that this weekend.

anyone else going? i've seen others go in years past...

I may actually be heading up for this; Upstate NY is my old stomping grounds. If I do go I'll be riding up as I usually do; wouldn't be against some company!

If anyone has never been, and can take the time off, I HIGHLY recommend this event. It's a mixed crows of sportbikes, cruisers, trikes etc. My uncle and I rode out last year just for a day (just to ride the roads) and it was amazing.

Also, the scenery / twisities never end!!

Buck; I'm headed out right now, but I'll get in contact with you this weekend sometime!

Ok, just send me a pm or something about when you are planning on heading up. my dad was telling me about all the mini rides that he went on and said they are great.

I heard they are also having the bmw stunter there, forget his name. sounds like it could be a great time, with great scenery and of course plenty of twisties and fun.

Transplant form NY, I use to go up every year for about 6 years. Its a good time... good mix... demo rides are excellent... friday and sat night are good time, wheelies, burnouts, a few titties, cops, etc... its all good. The roads are amazing... best day trip form Lake George is to ride along the lake up to Lake Champlain, take ferry across, and come back down on VT side. Check out my profile for pics.

I'm not going up this year.
Thurday and Frfiday are good days... less crowd... the number of bikes almost double on Saturday.

Might have to check it out this year.
Been wanting to road trip with the Harley.
Went a few times in the late 80's.
Was mostly Gold Wings. Sounds like times have changed.

yeah, i've heard there is definitely a growing population of sport bikes. but with 60k bikes there, i'm sure its good to go. i'm gonna try and make it on the zx10r, so need to do some long rides before than to get prepped.

just got my hotel. they are definitely filling up. Looks like we will be driving up Tuesday, the 2nd of June and stopping halfway. Then arriving Wednesday and heading back to DC on Saturday, stopping halfway somewhere else on the way back.

Got my registration pack too, looks like there are a lot of cool rides and things to do. should be a good time.

Well haven't really heard too many people going yet, so as of right now we only plan on the wife and i. Don't know what days you are planning on going, but if the dates are the same, we could do a group.

are any of you guys from that area? I grew up in saratoga, NY. Americade is pretty big. Mostly for the touring/goldwing crowd. But there are a ton of sportbikes and other stuff going on too.
