Attn: Cyclists / Mountain Bikers - March 8, 2010, 02:18 PM

Attn - route planning link I came across while researching

http://www.mapmyride.com - Feel free to check it out.

I know there are a number of people on the site that are cyclists / mountain bikers and I am trying to get a routine thread going among all that are interested in riding this year. Want meet up with other riders and plan rides or routes? Come out this weekend for a quick meet and greet and ride. I'm going to meet up again this Sat or Sunday based on responses.

Please post up if your a road biker or a mountain biker even if you can't make the event. Trying to get feel for a shirt deal (for those interested in a club shirt)

I AM TOTALLY OPEN TO OTHER ROUTES AS WELL

http://www.wodfriends.org/mileage.html (plug in Vienna Station / Reston Station for the mileage of this ride. (your welcome to adjust to your liking/abilities)

Either day - Plan is to meet up @ Spokes in Vienna and head out to Reston Town Center

10:15 - 10:30 AM Stretch out and tune if req'd -

11:00 bikes are rolling

Ride at your own pace - waiting at stops optional

Meet at Panera Bread in Reston at 12:00ish / Stop for hydration of choice and head back.

those that want more miles can continue out beyond Reston and those that are tired can turn back.

I found this to be a good ride (we did start in Falls Church last time) and it was at a pretty laid back pace.

If you've got the time or just want to burn some calories join it. If your fast or a serious rider come on out and help us out with info and critique.

Most important - just get your bike and come on out for little fun

WEATHER permitting there is a chance of rain (40% as of today's forecast)

If its going to happen this weekend it will be Sunday. Sat is out for me but Sunday is possible if the weather changes to no rain.

Just curious though anyone down RAIN or SHINE?

I'll read the thread however I thought it was geared at bike photos not ride events. I was hoping to make this more of a 2010 get your ass off the couch thread. I remembered seeing that back when Devious got his ride... so lets meet up and ride. I'm hoping to get in some seat time on both machines this weekend.

I see you have a good number of people in the threads talking bikes... hopefully the weather will hold and a good group can make it. I'll try to keep the rides rolling whenever I can.

TBL is an awesome shop. The owners are great people who really really care about the cycling community.

They also do the same ride from their Burke location, and i think the pace is slightly slower than the Reston ride.

When they head out of Reston do they go west or east in most cases? I would link away from the cities/towns but I'm curious to know.

I will definitely be up for some rides. I don't have a road bike though (mountain bike with road tires), so I wonder if I will be able to hang. I'm going to start riding to work again to get my stamina back.
